What is the truck theory exam?
The truck theory exam is mandatory for anyone who wants to obtain a C or CE license. The exam is administered by the CBR and tests your knowledge of traffic rules, vehicle technology and professional knowledge specific to truck drivers.
The exam consists of 65 multiple choice questions divided over 3 modules. You have 80 minutes to answer all questions. To pass, you must answer at least 52 questions correctly.

Start practising early
Start at least 2 weeks before your exam. This gives you enough time to go through all modules thoroughly.
Take many practice exams
Repetition is key. Take at least 10 practice exams before going to CBR. Note which topics you get wrong.
Read the question carefully
Many mistakes come from careless reading. Read every question twice and watch out for words like 'not', 'always' and 'only'.
Know the driving and rest hours
Module 3 (professional knowledge) contains many questions about driving and rest hours. Learn the rules by heart and practice with the driving hours calculator.

After passing you immediately receive your theory certificate. This is valid for 2 years.

Find a certified driving school for your practical lessons. You need an average of 20-30 lessons.
Obtain Code 95
As a professional driver you also need Code 95 (professional competence). This can be done through an additional course.
Take practical exam
Schedule your practical exam at CBR. After passing you receive your C or CE driving licence.
